About No Borders
No Borders is a network of groups struggling for the freedom of movement for all and an end to all migration controls. We call for a radical movement against the system of control, dividing us into citizens and non-citizens. We demand the end of the border regime for everyone, including ourselves, to enable us to live another way, without fear, racism and nationalism.
No Borders North East is an open group that works towards achieving these aims. We raise awareness of the asylum system and the way in which it affects those caught up in it and the injustice and inhumanity of border controls. We have done solidarity actions with migrants striking for decent pay, worked to increase consciousness about the introduction of ID cards and their impact on asylum seekers and we have also carried out work to stop forced deportations. We held our first self-education day earlier this month and are planning a second one in the near future.
The group is guided by the energy and ideals of its members. We welcome anyone who believes that the border system is making all of us less human and wants to works to eradicate such an unjust system
